Face mask - A social responsible act ?

H1N1 is rampant in every country, death had been on the alarming rise and every major newspaper in my country, make a tabloid headline with the counts of casualty and death.

This is the first time, in my life, I experience people wearing face mask at work and outside the public place. It is not common to see this kind of stuff, especially here in my home country. I was made understood by most people, because of H1N1 and also the newspaper had make a good effort on public education, as a good citizen and social act, it is good act to put a face mask, if you have a flu or cough, to prevent spreading to others.

As usual in my work, I went to a meeting called by boss, and I saw one of the managers was wearing a face mask. It is so abnormal scene, to see people wearing mask while during meeting. Really, first time in my life, kind a bit of "Sua Ku" (Hokkien dialect) My boss commended him for being social responsible of not spreading the flu he had. He just nod his head and said nothing. After the meeting, I pulled over him, and ask him to tell him my feeling and encounter, it is a strange sight for me to see people wearing face mask in the meeting. I asked whether he had flu. He told me "No". I asked him whether he had cough. He told me "No". Puzzled! I asked him then why you wear the face mask, since you had no flu and no cough! Mumbling in his face mask, he said "I don't want to catch the flu and cough from you guys who are not wearing face mask!" I burst into laughter, spitting my saliva over him. Indeed a social responsible guy! (Kiasi guy).
